10 Disinfection
Weekly Disinfection:
1. Apply a small amount of ethyl -or isopropyl alcohol, e.g. 2 – 3 splashes of 10H5 Skin-Care
Spray to a soft, clean cloth.
2. Carefully wipe the entire inside of the silicone liner and let the disinfection agent absorb for
approx. 2 minutes. Additional washing is not necessary.
3. Place the silicone liner onto the drying stand and allow it to dry.
Note!
Do not immerse the silicone liner in ethyl or isopropyl alcohol. Extended contact
with large amounts will damage the silicone liner.
11 Care
Attention!
Many typical household products such as soap, deodorants, perfumes, aerosols,
alcohol sprays or peeling products can cause or contribute to skin irritations.
• with 10H4 Skin Care-Moisturising Lotion
If the skin feels dry, apply Streifeneder 10H4 Skin Care-Moisturising Lotion to moisturise the
skin and make it smooth and supple. The Streifeneder lotion is pH-neutral, 100 % perfume and
dye free and do not leave any greasy residue.
Do NOT apply the lotion prior wearing the silicone liner (see Fig. 12).
12 Skin protection
• with Skin Care Skin Protection Cream 10H3
For dry or stressed skin, the stump can be massaged with Streifeneder 10H3 Skin-Care Protection.
13 Important information
• Make sure that the silicone liner is not exposed to foreign particles such as glass- or carbon
fibres in the work shop. They may settle in the silicone and may lead to skin irritations.
• An increased perspiration problem, which is normal in the beginning, should cease after
2 – 3 weeks. If the problem continues consult your orthopaedic technician or doctor.
• The silicone liner must be checked daily for damages (tears, material abrasion.
• Please consult your orthopaedic technician or doctor immediately if you notice fitting
problems or damages of the silicone liner; otherwise the function of the silicone liner may
not be properly provided any longer.
