Troubleshooting Guide
Problem
Vehicle does not run
Possible Cause
Undercharged battery
Charger is not working
Blown Fuse
Loose wires or wire
connections
Dead Battery
Electrical switch damage
Motor Damage
Solution
Charge the battery. A new battery should be
charged before using the vehicle. Recharge the
battery after each use. Never charge the battery
longer than 24 hours.
Check all connectors. Make sure the charger
connector is plugged into the battery, and the
charger is plugged into the wall.
Make sure there is power flow to the wall outlet
charger is plugged into.
If you suspect that there is a problem with your
charger, Contact Step2 consumer service at
1-800-347-8372.
A thermal fuse may 'trip" and shut down operation of
the vehicle if the vehicle is overloaded or the driving
conditions are too severe. The fuse will automatically
reset itself after approximately 25 seconds allowing
the vehicle to resume normal operation. To prevent
tripping of the fuse, do not overload the vehicle by
exceeding the weight capacity or by towing anything
with the vehicle. Do not drive up hills or run into fixed
objects which can cause the wheels to stop spinning
while the power is still being supplied to the motors.
If the thermal fuse continually trips, contact Step2
consumer service.
Check fuse and replace with 35A fuse.
Check all wires and connections. Make sure the
harness connector is plugged into the battery, and
there are no loose wires around the motor.
If the battery is old or if you have not followed the
battery care instructions, contact Step2 consumer
service.
