Periodically check that all of the machine's screws are in
their lodgings and are tightened properly. Replace any
damaged, worn or cracked parts. Check that the transmission
tube has been properly installed.
PINION Fig. 21
- The drive pinion (15) does not require any special maintenance
but should be checked for wear periodically.
- The pinion must be replaced after every two chain
substitutions.
- Replace the pinion (15) if the teeth are worn in excess of
0.5mm (A).
In order replace the pinion, follow the procedure
below - Fig.12:
1- Remove the screws (1) and washers (2).
2- Remove the cover (3) - making sure that the spacers (6)
remain in their lodgings.
3- Insert the attachment into the bevel gear's pinion and lock
it in to the gripper.
4- Remove the nut (4) and the flywheel and extract the pinion (5)
5- Replace the pinion and reassemble the unit by performing
the above operations in the opposite order.
6- Make sure that the nut (4) is properly locked in place.
BAR
- After each sharpening and chain replacement, turn the bar
(8- Fig. 12) so that it gets worn in a uniform manner.
- Clean the lubrication holes and lines periodically
- the groove of the bar
The bar must be replaced when the guide mesh touches the
bottom of the bar's groove.
Periodically check that all of the machine's screws are in
their lodgings and are tightened properly. Replace any
damaged, worn or cracked parts. Check that the transmission
tube has been properly installed.

Every 25 hours of function:
- Remove the cap (1) and insert the opening of the grease tube
into the hole. Squeeze the tube until grease comes out of the
BEVEL GEAR Fig. 37
Every 50 working hours inject the bevel gear with gear grease
trough the hole (A).
Recommended grease: Special ACTIVE "NO MELT" Ref.
21230.
PRUNER
- Excessively worn bars must not be used as these could
damage new chains.
ATTENTION: Since it is not possible to lock the chain onto
the bar, it is recommended to remove the chain and to
perform the sharpening operation on a fixed sharpener.
Only use special sharpening files.
The IBEA branch remover / pruner can be equipped with
chains of the following sizes: 1/4 or 3/8.
- the chain size and mesh thickness must conform respectively
to the pinion (8) and the bar (7) - see Fig. 12
- Respect the angles when sharpening the teeth

- the sharpening angle must be maintained until the chain has
been completely worn.
- after having sharpened all of the teeth, check and adjust the
cutting depth (C).
- if a tooth has to be replaced, the new tooth will have to be
filed down to the same size as the other teeth.

- Refill the gear box through its cap (5) with the proper quantity
of grease (¾ of the box volume) after every 50 hours of
function.
Use grease for high speed gears.

Clean away the excess grease and re-apply the cap (1).
ONLY USE SPECIAL EP lithium based GREASE with
molybdenum disulfide – ACTIVE CODE 21230
Replace the blades whenever worn or damaged.

blade if craked,chipped or damaged in any way.
