5.3 Mounting bathlift in the bath
CAUTION!
Sliding of seat if suction cups are not
properly fixed
Prior to installing the lift in the
bath, clean the bathtub and the
suction cups.
After installation, do not move the
AQUATEC FORTUNA in the
bath.
Important!
Prior to installation, check that all
suction cups are properly mounted.
Ensure that the battery is fully
recharged.
When lifting, please remember that
the seat has a weight of approx.
8 kg, while the backrest weighs
about 4.5 kg (without battery).
If your bath is equipped with a han-
dle, install the side flap diverter
(optional accessory).
1. Position the seat (2, figure 6) onto the
base of the empty bath. The spindle foot
support (3, figure 6) must thereby face
the top end of the bath opposite the drain
(1, figure 6).
2. Fold sidefolds of the seat outwards
(figure 7).
3. Position the backrest (without battery)
(1, figure 8) on the seat (7, figure 8),
ensuring that the spindle foot (4, figure 8)
faces the spindle foot support
(6, figure 8).

4. Lift backrest slightly by holding it at the
head end and place it onto the hinges
(5, figure 8) on both side of the seat to the
stop.
5. Press spindles (2, figure 8) into the spin-
dle catch (3, figure 8) until they are
engaged.
CAUTION!
Risk of damage if spindle foot
becomes detached
Prior to folding up the backrest,
check the spindle to ensure that it
is properly engaged in the catch.
After the backrest is folded up,
check spindle foot again for
proper position and locking.
6. Carefully lift backrest by pulling it up at
the head end (figure 8).
The spindle is thereby removed from the
catch. The pegs (6, figure 9) slide along the
spindle holder (2, figure 9) and engage again.
The spindle foot (3, figure 9) is positioned in
the spindle foot support (4, figure 9) base
plate, and the spindle foot engages in the
locking device (5, figure 9).
7. Insert the charged battery (2, figure 10)
into compartment (1, figure 2) in the back-
rest.
8. Push in battery until it engages
(figure 10).
The AQUATEC FORTUNA is now ready for
