2. Equalizer frequency
The equalizer frequency is located in the centre of the equalizer curve. It's the so-called "resonant
frequency". The frequency can be adjusted from 15Hz to 16kHz in steps of approximately 1/6 octave.
OUT 1
Eq 1 Fq 1.00kHz
The frequency can be moved by turning the encoder wheel or by using the ◄ and ► keys.
3. Equalizer Gain
Any equalization applied to an input should have either a positive or a negative gain setting.
OUT 1
Eq + -
This gain can be adjusted from –15 to +15 dB by turning the encoder wheel or by using the ◄ and ►
keys. If no gain is applied, that equalizer block is not activated. The moment a gain value is given, that
EQ block, e.g. Eq1, becomes active and the parameters of the next EQ block on that input channel, in
this case Eq2, become accessible.
As more EQ blocks are added, the DSP resources are reduced and the Sp indication counts down. The
exact number of available filters may vary depending on certain usage restrictions and the employed
assignments.
To know these restrictions, please refer to the "DSP resources" section of this manual.
4. Equalizer width
The Wd parameter sets the filter bandwidth for the bell-type filters. It is only available for this type of
equalizer.
OUT 1
Eq 1 Wd
The filter width can be adjusted from 0.05 octaves to 3 octaves in 0.05 octave steps.
The Width setting establishes the filter amount around the centre frequency. The smaller the Wd value,
the narrower the filter bell shape, so that a certain frequency can be affected more selectively. As the
Wd value is increased, the bell shape widens and a smoother filter response is obtained which affects
the adjacent frequencies increasingly.
It's usual to employ values around Wd=0.3 (1/3 octave)
At this point, a first equalization for this output has been created.
If the current channel has more than one active equalizers, pressing the PREVIOUS button brings you to
the initial screen (equalizer type) of the second equalizer. This repeats successively until all output
equalization blocks have passed.
