Laboratory glassware and utensils
Items with wide necks, e.g. glass beakers or Erlenmeyer flasks can
be cleaned and rinsed inside and out using rotating spray arms.
Arrange wide neck flasks with the open side facing downwards.
Laboratory glassware must not hinder the reprocessing of other
items and must not be flipped over by the force of water during the
programme.
Secure light items with a cover net such as A 2 or reprocess them
in mesh trays with lids.
If laboratory glassware is placed with the open side facing up‐
wards, suds solution can collect in it. This can spill and impair
cleaning results in the washer-disinfector.
Use special inserts where necessary to reprocess laboratory glas‐
sware and utensils. Various inserts for different types of items are
available from Miele, for example:
Glass beakers and wide neck Erlenmeyer flasks are processed in
mesh trays, e.g. E 142.
Reprocess small items such as stoppers, lids, spatulas, magnetic stir‐
ring rods etc. in mesh trays with lids, e.g. E 146. Alternatively a mesh
tray with a sufficiently large cover net could could be used.
