Empty, completely flat batteries must be disposed of through spe-
cially designated collection boxes, recycling points or electronics
retailers. You are legally required to dispose of the batteries.
The codes below are printed on batteries containing harm-
ful substances: Pb = Battery contains lead, Cd = Battery
contains cadmium, Hg = Battery contains mercury. This
battery contains: Pb, Hg.

8. Cleaning the device

• Clean the basal thermometer with a soft, clean cloth before and
after each use.
• In the case of stubborn stains, you can clean the basal thermom-
eter with a cloth dampened with water or a neutral cleaning agent.
Then dry the basal thermometer with a soft, dry cloth.
• You can also disinfect the basal thermometer with 75% ethanol or
isopropyl alcohol diluted with water. To disinfect, do NOT dip the
