2. INTRODUCTION
The recirculation air filter system for hazardous substances is a compact instrument that is
used for the forced ventilation of safety cabinets typ 90, No 981105_1200.
It is used in a recirculating air mode.
Its low noise level makes this filter attachment for hazardous substances ideal for direct use
at the workplace. 99.999 % of the hydrocarbon vapours is removed from the exhaust air
from the cabinet by the built-in active charcoal filter filled with special active charcoal; the
exhaust air can then be returned directly into the room.
The special feature of the filter is its tandem construction; this means that when a
breakthrough is detected the second built-in filter will continue to retain contami-
nants for a period of up to 14 days.
The flow of exhaust air containing hydrocarbons does not come into contact with any com-
ponents carrying an electric current. This means that an exhaust air outlet discharging into
the outside atmosphere is not required.
