The housing is made from powder-coated thin sheet.
It is essential that the following points are observed:
ɽ Rules and regulations applying to the handling of hazardous substances.
ɽ Continually check the recirculation air filter system for hazardous substances.
ɽ The information given in these Operating Instructions.
ɽ Instructions given by safety personnel, technical supervisory authorities, etc..
ɽ Workplace regulations and accident prevention rules.
ɽ As this instrument is a technical safety unit it must be checked at least once a year,
or more frequently depending on the workload. The check and filter replacement
associated with it must be carried out by authorised technicians using original
spare parts from the manufacturer. If the check is not carried out, or carried out by
personnel that have not been authorised by the manufacturer, then all guarantee
claims that the customer may have against the manufacturer become invalid. No
guarantee exists for wear-and-tear parts or consumables such as filters and elec-
tro-technical sensors.
ɽ The performance of the ventilator fan is adequate for achieving at least a 10-fold air
exchange in the safety cabinet models. The recirculation air filter systemfor hazardous
substances monitors the perfect functioning. If performance drops (e.g. because of dust
particles on the filter surface) the ventilator fan performance is greatly increased auto-
matically and an optical alarm is triggered. The user then has 14 days to replace the filter.
The innovative design of the instrument prevents boxes or cartons being placed on the
filter so that they cannot impede the discharge of the purified exhaust air.
ɽ In addition, care has been taken with the design to ensure that in the ventilator fan
the gap between rotating and non-rotating parts (potentially a frictional zone in
which sparks could be produced) has been set at 1.5 mm due to the special oper-
ating conditions. This means that, despite the use of a tandem filter, care has been
taken to avoid spark formation even when the active charcoal filter is saturated.
ɽ According to construction survey and production control there is a statement
from DEKRA EXAM concerning placing on the market a hazardous substances filter
attachment GFA BASIC as per valid machine guidelines and ATEX guideline. It has
been determined by DEKRA EXAM that a recirculation air filter system is a machine
and ATEX guideline is considered within the scope of machine guideline according
to zone decrease. Thus according to DEKRA EXAM potential ignition sources do not
occur together in dangerous explosive area within the device.
