How to set up at night:
1.
Set up the telescope so that the tube points approximately north and roughly in the direction of the Pole
Star.
2.
Loosen the side locking lever near the setting circle scale. Unlocking the mount is done by turning the lever
to the left.
3.
At the rear of the mount, you will find the polar elevation screw. This holds the mount at the required angle.
With the help of the lever, turn this screw to the right or left, until the pointer indicates the geographical
latitude you require.
4.
Now tighten the side locking lever again by turning it clockwise.
5.
The polar height and the degree of latitude have now been set.
6.
Loosen the DEC axis locking screw (upper axis). You will find a setting circle here graduated from 0-90°.
Move the telescope axis so that the pointer on the setting circle indicates 90°. Now lock the DEC locking
screw again.
7.
Turn the mount until it is pointing the optical tube towards the Pole Star. You can either turn the mount
together with the tripod or loosen the screw directly underneath the base plate of the mount slightly and
then turn the mount left or right in azimuth. Now firmly lock the screw again.
Finally, locate the Pole Star above the tube and check that the telescope is correctly aligned. From now on, do
not move the tripod. Now you can observe any point in the sky by moving the telescope in its two axes.
