Choosing an amplifier
The excess power of an amplifier is not likely to damage loudspeakers. It is, quite the opposite, a lack of
power. In the latter case, if the sound level is too high, the amplifier saturates and generates parasite signals
that may damage the speaker drivers. The dynamic capacity and definition of the 100 Series loudspeakers
range are high enough to reveal the strengths and weaknesses of whatever amplifier is connected to them.
Your dealer will be able to guide your choice to suit your tastes and budget.
Loudspeaker positioning
Wall mounting (fig.1)
Mounting under an eave (fig.2)
The loudspeakers should be positioned symmetrically, facing the listening area, ideally forming an isosceles
triangle with it. The space between the two loudspeakers will be between 8.2ft (2.5m) and 13.1ft (4m) for a
listening area between 9.8ft (3m) and 19.7ft (6m). These distances may be varied, however, to find the ideal
compromise depending on the specific room layout. The loudspeakers should be positioned at the same
height and in the same horizontal plane.
For horizontal installation under an eave, we recommend pointing the loudspeakers towards the middle of
the listening area.
Cable
We recommend using a cable with a + / - marker and ensuring the polarity of the speaker drivers is
respected. Choose good quality cables with a cross-section appropriate for the installation length; your
dealer will be able to advise you.
The impedance of each outdoor product from the 100 Series range allows you to simultaneously connect
two loudspeakers to the same amplifier output, if you wish (fig. 3).
