CHAPTER 5
OPERATION
CHECK OF EXPANSION TANK WITH MEMBRANE
DANGER
Risk of injury! An excessively high gas inlet pressure can cause damage to the expansion tank with
membrane. The maximum admissible operating pressure is specified on the data plate of the tank and
must never be exceeded. During the filling process, check the gas inlet pressure.
To ensure optimal operation of the autoclave, the gas inlet pressure in the expansion tank with membrane must be
proportionate to the intervention pressure. The expansion tank has been pre-charged in the factory with air and set
at a specific inlet pressure (see data plate of the expansion tank).
Before start-up and after changing the settings of the pressure switch, it is recommended to check the gas
pressure again. Discharge the pressure of the expansion tank with membrane on the water side and use a pressure
measurement device to read the gas pressure on the gas filling valve of the tank with membrane.
The gas pressure value must corresponds to approximately the pump intervention pressure minus 10 %.
If the gas inlet pressure is too low, add air.
If the gas pressure value is too high, discharge air via the valve.
PUMP PRIMING
DANGER
The pump must only be started up after it is filled with liquid.
DANGER
If the pump has not been used for a prolonged period, the filling operation should be repeated before
starting up.

DANGER
The pump must never be operated with the shutoff valve on the delivery side closed. The discharge valve
must be opened as soon as the pump has been started up, to prevent damage to the latter by an excessive
increase in liquid temperature.
