MAINTENANCE

8.1

General

The boiler does not require complex maintenance. It is advisable, however, to have it inspected and serviced on a regular basis.
Servicing and cleaning of the boiler must be carried out a minimum of once a year by a qualified professional.
8.2

Maintenance message

By displaying the
symbol, this function warns the user that the boiler requires maintenance (if the function is enabled, refer to
the installation manual).
8.3

Maintenance notes

Periodically check that the pressure displayed on the pressure gauge is 1 - 1.5 bar, with the system cold. If it is lower, turn the
system filling tap installed as instructed in section "Filling the installation". It is advisable to open the tap very slowly in order to
vent the air.
The boiler is fitted with a hydraulic pressure switch which prevents the boiler from working if there is no water.
If pressure drops occur frequently (monthy basis), have the system checked by the Authorised technical service agent.
8.4

Filling the installation

The filling knob is light blue and located under the boiler, as shown in the
picture to the side. To fill the system, proceed as follows:
• Pull the knob (A) downwards to release it from its seat.
• Slowly turn the knob anticlockwise (to the left) to fill the system. Do this by
hand without using any tools.
• Fill the system until the reading on the pressure gauge (B) is between 1.0
and 1.5 bar.
• Close the tap and check that no water leaks out.
Periodically check the reading on the pressure gauge (B) when the system is
cold. If the pressure is low, turn the valve to increase it again.
8.5

Venting the installation

It is essential to eliminate any air in the boiler, pipes or fittings because this
can cause irritating noise during heating or the intake of water. To do this,
proceed as follows:
• Open the valves of all the radiators connected to the central heating
system.
• Set the ambient thermostat as high as possible.
• Wait for the radiators to heat up.
• Set the ambient thermostat as low as possible.
• Wait about 10 minutes until the radiators have cooled down.
• Vent the radiators. Start with the lower floors.
• Open the vent valve holding a cloth against the valve.
• Wait until water comes out of the vent valve and then tighten it again.
• After venting, check that the system is still at sufficient pressure.
Take care as the water might still be hot.
If the hydraulic pressure of the water in the central heating system is
below 0.8 bar, it is advised to increase the pressure (the recommended
hydraulic pressure is 1.0 - 1.5 bar) as described in section 8.3.
