6. Operation

6.1 ON/OFF switch (1)
To switch on the equipment slide the
switch(1) forwards and press the switch (1)
until it engages.
To switch off the machine push the switch (1);
it then returns to its original position.
6.2 Making a workpiece (Fig. 7)
Before you start work with the biscuit jointer, the
workpiece must be marked as follows.
Place the two parts side by side; the workpie-
ces must be securely clamped.
Draw a line with a pencil perpendicular to the
position of the joint.
Several joints will be required for large pieces
of wood.
The distance between two lines should be at
least 10 cm.
6.3 Positionin the biscuit jointer (Fig. 8)
Set and check the cutting depth.
Set the angle fence (10).
Set the height.
Position the machine near to the workpiece.
There are markings (a) on the machine; these
must line up with the line you have drawn.
Now switch on the machine and push the
drive motor (11) forwards. The workpiece
must be securely clamped.
6.4 Connecting the workpieces (Fig. 9/10)
When you have cut a slot on both workpieces
they can be connected.
Place glue in both slots.
Insert the biscuit dowel (a) into one of the
slots (Fig. 9).
Press both workpieces together (Fig. 10).
Clamp the workpieces and wait until the glue
has set.

7. Replacing the power cable

Danger!
If the power cable for this equipment is damaged,
it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its
authorized after-sales service or similarly trained
personnel to avoid danger.

8. Cleaning, maintenance and
ordering of spare parts
Danger!
Always pull out the mains power plug before star-
ting any cleaning work.
8.1 Cleaning
Keep all safety devices, air vents and the
motor housing free of dirt and dust as far as
possible. Wipe the equipment with a clean
cloth or blow it with compressed air at low
pressure.
We recommend that you clean the device
immediately each time you have finished
using it.
Clean the equipment regularly with a moist
cloth and some soft soap. Do not use
cleaning agents or solvents; these could at-
tack the plastic parts of the equipment. Ensu-
re that no water can seep into the device. The
ingress of water into an electric tool increases
the risk of an electric shock.
8.2 Carbon brushes
In case of excessive sparking, have the carbon
brushes checked only by a qualifi ed electrician
and/or an authorized service agent.
Danger! The carbon brushes should not be rep
laced by anyone but a qualifi ed electrician or the
authorized service technician.
8.3 Maintenance
There are no parts inside the equipment which
require additional maintenance.
