Problem Possible cause
Insuffi cient supply of cooling air
The vacuum
pump becomes
extremely hot
and switches off. Mains frequency or mains power sup-
ply outside the tolerance range
Ambient temperature higher than 40 °C Stop work
Clamping not
Button valve on the suction plate faulty
possible.
Slide valve [6-1]
Valve sleeve [6-2] dirty
stiff.
Remedy
Ensure that the vacuum pump cooling system
is not hampered by dust/dirt.
Clean the ventilation grille,
Maintain the distance specifi ed between the
air vent slits and the wall
Establish a stable power supply
Clean the button valve (see 8 Service and
maintenance)/
Replace the button valve.
Clean the valve sleeve and apply a light coat
of grease
