Attaching to a S 500 Diamond Drill Stand
Observe the safety and working instructions in
these operating instructions when using the drill-
ing stand in all cases.
Loosen the clamping lever 22. Take care that the feed
handle is blocked by the locking pin 23.
Insert the machine from above into the dovetail attach-
ment to the stop and retighten the clamping lever 22.

When clamped into a drilling stand, the gear selection
switch and the feed handle should be readily accessi-
ble.
Putting into Operation
Function Test of the FI Protection Switch 1
(GDB 1600 WE)
For safety reasons, check for the proper functioning of
the FI protection switch 1 before work begin:

Press the «RESET» button on the FI protection
switch.
Operational readiness of the protection switch is
indicated by lighting of the red control lamp.

Press the «TEST» button.
The control lamp must go out.
Switching On/Off
Switching on:
Press the «RESET» button on the FI protection switch
1. (GDB 1600 WE)
Press the on-off switch 2 and lock at the same time
with the locking button 3 as necessary.
Switching off:
Release the on-off switch 2. When locked with the
locking button 3, first press the on-off switch to release
the lock and then release the on-off switch 2.

Wet drilling
Mount the flushing head. Set the water shut-off valve
20 for flow-through. Check with the flow-through indi-
cator 13.
After the work is completed, drain the remaining water
out of the flushing head by opening water shut-off
valve 20.
Dry drilling

Mount the suction head. Also see Section Mounting
and Reequipping the Drill Head.
Dust Vacuuming
Dust vacuuming prevents large amount of dirt from
collecting and dust from contaminating the breathing
air.
The machine can be connected directly to the socket
of a Bosch all-purpose vacuum cleaner with remote
starting. The vacuum cleaner starts automatically
when the machine is switched on.
Switch on the machine and apply the core drill bit to
the material to be worked.
Drill with uniform pressure. Do not overload the ma-
chine. Check with the control lamp 4.
After the drilling is completed, switch off the drill and
the extraction device.
Setting the Speed Range
With the gear selector 5, two speed ranges can be se-
lected. Approximate speeds are given in the table be-
low.

Working Instructions
Drilling without a Drill Stand
When drilling, use the auxiliary handle 17.
The auxiliary handle can be screwed on as required on
the left, right or below on the drill head. In this manner,
fatigue-free and secure working positions are
achieved.
When working with the machine, always hold it
firmly with both hands and provide for a secure
stance.
