3.1.5
Leak test
Dräger strongly recommends performing a leak test prior to safety-
relevant measurements and recommends against use if a leak test
fails. There are two options for a leak test:
Every time when the instrument is switched on, the leak test will be
optionally offered.
The leak test can be mandatory if set in the password-protected
menu.
The setting of the delivered Dräger X-act 5000 is that the
mandatory leak test is to be performed after 1000 strokes
(=100 L).
If the leak test is mandatory, "LEAK TEST" is indicated in the upper row
of the matrix display and at the right side of the segment display the
icon ("Warning") is indicated. The Dräger X-act 5000 cannot be
used until the leak test is passed.
The user will be prompted to start the leak test every time the pump is
switched on. The leak test may be skipped unless it is required due to
the settings in the password-protected menu.
If the leak test is selected, the user will be prompted to insert a closed
tube and start the test. When the leak test is passed, the green LEDs
will flash. When the "OK" key is pressed, the modes of operation will
be offered.
