as a blender.
GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
Do not turn on the device with an empty jug (5).
Do not use the appliance unless the lid is clicked
into place properly.
The stainless steel jug (5) becomes hot during
use. You should therefore always hold the plastic
handle during use. Do not touch the jug during
cooking or cooling. Wait until it has fully cooled off.
Beware of steam being released from the jug
(5) when removing the lid.
Do not use the Soupmaker to blend hard
ingredients, as this may damage the blades (4).
9
Do not use the appliance if the rotating blades (4)
are damaged.
The lid slides into the socket at the top of the jug (5).
Make sure the electrical connections do not
get wet. If the connections do get wet,
immediately unplug the appliance and dry
thoroughly before further use.
Always ensure that there is adequate ventilation
around the appliance while in use.
BEFORE INITIAL USE
It is important to clean your Soupmaker before
using it for the first time or if it has not been used
for a long period of time. This can be done with a
damp cloth.
When using your Soupmaker for the first time,
you may notice some smoke/vapour coming from
the lid (2). This is perfectly normal. After a few
uses, this will stop.
There is a peel-off sticker on the front of the
Soupmaker. This can easily be removed. The
sticker gives a brief explanation of the various
programmes.
IN OPERATION
1. Make sure the Soupmaker is connected to a
power supply.
2. Remove the lid (2), taking care not to touch the
blade (4).
3. Place all ingredients in the jug (5).
4. Add extra liquid. Make sure that it is filled
between the MIN and MAX marks.
5. Replace the lid (2) on the jug (5) and make sure it
is securely in place.
6. Insert the plug into the wall socket. The icons
will flash sequentially.
7. Press the Menu button (7) to select the
programme. The icon will illuminate.
8. Press the Power button (8). When the soup is
ready the Soupmaker will beep for 60 seconds
and all icons will flash. Remove the plug from the
socket, remove the lid (2) and pour the fresh
soup into a bowl.
THE VARIOUS FUNCTIONS
The Soupmaker has 3 settings to make 2 litres of
soup or a (thick) main-meal soup. There is also
a separate manual blending function. Cut the
ingredients into 2 cm slices before placing them in
the Soupmaker. We also recommend that you use a
ratio of 2 parts food to 3 parts water. This will help
the Soupmaker with blending and stirring and will
increase the service life of your machine. Therefore,
a maximum of 800 ml of food per blending cycle is
recommended.
