CONNECTING ANTENNAS

To enjoy radio on this system, you need to connect FM/AM antennas to this unit. This product includes an indoor FM
antenna and AM loop antenna. If the radio wave reception is weak in your area or you want to improve the radio wave
reception, we recommend that you use outdoor antennas. For details, consult the nearest authorized Yamaha dealer or
service center.
Indoor FM antenna
(supplied)
* For the maximum safety and minimum interference, connect the antenna GND terminal to a good earth ground.
A good earth ground is a metal stake driven into the moist earth.
Connect the supplied indoor FM antenna to the FM jack and AM loop antenna's GND terminal of the receiver. Place
the antenna away from the receiver and speaker cables. Find the best reception position, expand the antenna, then fix it.
Attach the antenna stand to the antenna. When attaching the antenna on the wall, you do not need to use the antenna
stand.
Connect the AM loop antenna lead wires to the AM and GND terminals of the receiver. There is no distinction
between the two lead wires for connecting. Twist the lead wires of the AM loop antenna and the indoor FM antenna
together before connecting to the GND terminal.
Place the AM loop antenna away from the system and speaker cables. While listening to the radio, rotate the antenna
head to find the best angle for reception.
