8. Wire and test fan
If you are remotely mounting the VFD, skip this step and refer to the instructions that came with the kit.
WARNING: Disconnect power to the installation location before wiring the fan!
Make sure power wiring is routed to the VFD, and connect the VFD to power. Insert the CAT5 controller cable
into the jack on the back of the VFD. Route the other end of the cable from the VFD to the controller installation
location. For fire relay wiring instructions, see the Fire Relay Wiring section. Apply power and test the VFD.

9. Install guy wires
WARNING: Disconnect power to the fan before installing the guy wires!
Note: Guy wires are included only if the fan's extension tube is 4 ft (1.2 m) or longer or if ordered separately.
A. Attach locking carabiners to main fan unit
Attach four locking carabiners to the brackets on the main fan unit. Securely tighten the carabiners.
