Bip
Dynamic zone: this is the most distant zone. The Lexus Parking Aid detects obstacles, but
only emits an intermittent beep if the distance between the vehicle and the obstacle is
decreasing.
No detection: in case the system is not able to detect obstacles due to sensor malfunctioning,
the system will generate a continuous intermittent tone with long beeps and short pauzes.
This will last for maximum 15 seconds, and will trigger on again every time the system is
activated.
CAUTION
Ensure that you familiarise yourself with the system after it has been fitted to your
vehicle.
CAUTION
If the sensors are too close (typically less than 20 cm) to an obstacle, the system may
not emit a beep.
CAUTION
The distances mentioned are only a guideline, the shape of each detection zone can
vary from vehicle to vehicle.
NOTICE
In case a towing hitch is fitted, a rear cancellation switch can be installed as well, to
allow temporary cancellation of the Lexus Parking Aid and avoid continuous detection
of your trailer during reversing.
B. Operating tips
1. General recommendations
Always remember that while this device is a valid aid when parking, it is the driver who is
ultimately responsible for assessing nearby obstacles. Always drive with due care and caution
in order to prevent damage to persons or to property. If you drive at high speed the sensors
will not be able to detect obstacles in time. The front obstacles are indicated by the front
beeper, the rear obstacles by the rear beeper.
2. Temporary malfunction
The Lexus Parking Aid may not operate correctly in the following situations:
–
if there is foreign matter on the sensor (ice, snow, mud,...);
–
if you are close to a radio communications antenna;
–
if you are approaching a source of ultrasonic waves (horn, motorcycle engine, when a
bus or a truck brake system releases air,...);
