FREQUENCY CONVERTER
Instructions for burner assistance technicians
The standard burner is set up to work at a fixed frequency so before effecting any changes it is important to
switch it on and adjust it when running as if it were a burner in the traditional BGN...LX range without a fre-
quency converter.
For the instructions see the instruction booklet provided with the burner
Adjustment of the burner with frequency above 50 Hz
If the burner fails to reach the maximum power required by the boiler, even when there is sufficient gas and the
air adjustment devices are open at maximum, the parameter 1105 can be changed from 50 to the value given
in the parameter2008
indicated in the table. In these conditions there will less electric consumption and less noise ( review the whole
of the burner adjustment).
N.B. It is possible, if the burner is working correctly, to adjust the combustion chamber output of the boiler with
frequency of less than 50 Hz by changing the parameter 1105 indicated in the table.
Variable frequency burner adjustment
Switch on the burner and in manual turn it to maximum power.
Scroll the arrows on the control panel for actuating the system:
until the display gives a percentage value, for example: 83%
After noting the figure we enter the read value to the parameter 1302 (AI 1 MAX )
We have not adjusted maximum frequency to the maximum cam opening angle of the servo motor so that when
we insert modulation the burner' previously adjusted maximum remains equivalent.
Turn the burner to modulation minimum and check the capacity.
At this point enter the frequency minimum for the modulation (indicatively never however less than 30 Hz.) to
the parameter 1104 ( RIF EXT. 1 MIN )
Check it is not below the minimum of the boiler or burner power, adjusting the burner air servomotor cam mini-
mum
At this point try some start-ups to check correct switching on of the burner, optimizing the ignition cam
adjustment by positioning at a value that is above minimum.
Try to find the best servomotor angle with the minimum possible frequency that will provide good ignition above
the burner's minimum.
After the adjustment, and to prevent unwanted interference with the system, the control panel can be removed
without jeopardising the working of the burner.
