• Switch on the ZOOM+
• Switch the ZOOM+ to LOCATING
(= RECEPTION). Push the two slid-
ing switches (4) outwards simulta-
neously.
• If the transmitter checked is func-
tioning properly, the screen will
display a reading such as "0.5"
(distance from the transmitter
checked).
• If there are no transmitters within
ZOOM+
the reception area of the
the dynamic "signal search" sym-
bol ("S") appears on the screen.
LOCATING
Slide both SWITCHES (4) outwards
simultaneously – the TRANSMIS-
SION CHANGEOVER SWITCH (5)
pops out. The search situation is au-
tomatically displayed on the screen.
ORTOVOX recommends switching
off mobile telephones and radio
equipment during the locating
process!

SIGNAL SEARCH
When searching for a signal (=
searching for the first signal), pan
the ZOOM+ left and right at an angle
of 30° and tilt it moderately up and
down. This compensates unfavor-
able positions of the transmitter an-
tenna to be located and the trans-
mitting signal can be picked up even
earlier.
Search strip width: 40m!
The dynamic signal search symbol
("S") will be displayed on the screen
until the first signal is received.
SEVERAL SEARCHERS
The distance between people
searching is 40m;
the distance to the edge of the ava-
lanche must not exceed 20m.
