ACTION
Drain air line filter daily.
Keep lubricator filled.
Clean filter element — then blow
air through filter in direction
opposite to normal flow.
Clean nails and washers (caps) magazine
and nails and washers (caps) feeding
mechanism.
Keep push lever working properly.
Lubricate the Nailer after nailing.
Drain air compressor.
Operator troubleshooting
Most minor problems can be resolved quickly and easily using the table below.
If problems persist, contact a Hitachi authorized service center for assistance.
PROBLEM
Nailer operates, but no nail or cap
(washer) is driven.
Weak drive.
Slow to cycle.
Drives too deep.

Prevent accumulation of moisture
and dirt.
Keep the Nailer lubricated.
Prevent clogging of filter with dirt.
Prevent a jam.

efficient Nailer operation.
Extend the Nailer life.

CHECK METHOD
Open nail guide. Check for a jam.
Open the washer magazine cover.
Check to see that the Cap (washer) is
loaded properly.
Check function of feeder per
Page 19.
Washer spring weakened or damaged?
Check for proper nails and caps
(washers).
Check air pressure.
Check position of adjuster per page 18.

HOW
Open manual petcock.
Fill with Hitachi pneumatic tool
lubricant.
Follow manufacturer's instructions.
Blow clean daily.
Blow clean daily.
Supply 5 – 10 drops of lubricant
into the Nailer.
Open petcock on air compressor tank.
CORRECTION
Clear a jam per Page 19.
Re-load the Cap (washer) properly.
Clean and lubricate.
