4,5. Hold baby against the opposite shoulder
and slide him down into the crossed bands,
first one leg into the inside band, then the
other leg into the outside band. Check that
both bands criss-cross between baby's legs.
6. Fan out the bands around your baby's back
starting with the inside band. Check that his
legs are positioned around your waist.
7,8. For extra comfort, hold the wrap by the
hem close to your neck and pull the material
down over your shoulder. Adjust the knot so
that your child is held tightly against your
body.
If the ends of the wrap are too long, wind
them around your waist again.
V . BACK CARRY
You should only try this position when your
child can sit up alone. We advise you to sit
in an armchair while putting your baby into
the wrap and to have someone nearby to help
you.
1. Place the wrap on the armchair, the Red
Castle label centred against the chair back.
Sit your child down on the wrap, the top of
the material level with the nape of his neck.
Pull a little material up between his legs.
2. Sit down in front of your child, gather up
both ends of the wrap which goes around
him, pass them under your arms and bring
them in front of you. Your child's legs should
be positioned around your waist.
3. Tighten one end after the other by first
holding the material at the bottom edge,
then the top edge.
child tightly held against your back. A young
child will have his arms inside the wrap, an
older one can have them outside it.
4. Holding both ends of the wrap tightly in one
hand, take one of them in the other hand,
pass it over your shoulder and tighten it
again.
5. Do the same with the other end and tighten
it again.
6,7. Now cross the ends over your child's back,
guide them under his legs, bring them back
in front of you and tie them in a double knot
around your waist.
You should feel your
8,9. Fan out or get help to fan out, both bands
of the wrap around your baby's back starting
with the inside band. The material should be
level with the back of his knees. If you prefer
to do so you can put his legs inside the wrap.
If the ends of the wrap are too long once you
have finished, knot them around your waist
once again.
Please note: Although it is possible to carry
your child forward facing in the Red Castle
wrap, we do not recommend this as a
comfortable position for the child nor for the
person carrying him.
