2.2. Setting the speed
NOTICE
Only switch the preselection lever for the speed range (3) when the power tool is out of operation.
The power tool has two speeds which are set by a mechanical gear. Set the speed range preselection lever
(3) to "Lo" for low speed. Set the speed range preselection lever (3) to "Hi" for high speed. The "Lo" speed
is used preferably for drilling large diameters, removing burr and turning in/loosening screws. The "Hi" speed
is used preferably for drilling small diameters. If the speed range preselection lever (3) cannot be turned up
to the stop, turn the quick-clamping chuck slightly by hand.
2.3. Setting the torque
The torque required for the work is set with the torque setting ring (2). The numbers 1 to 25 and the symbol
are shown on the torque setting ring. The lowest torque is set at stage 1 and the highest torque at
stage 25. A low torque is preferably used for turning in small screws. A higher torque, if necessary up to symbol
, should be set for drilling, removing burr and for loosening screws.
2.4. Reversing the direction of rotation
The rotation direction switch (4) has three rest positions. In the middle rest position the safety switch (5)
cannot be pressed and therefore the power tool cannot be switched on. Select this setting for all work on the
power tool, e.g. tool change, maintenance and for transport and storage. Press the rotation direction switch
(4) with the arrow head in the direction of the quick-clamping chuck (1) up to the stop for right-hand rotation.
Press the rotation direction switch with the arrow head in the direction of the speed range preselection lever
(3) up to the stop for left-hand rotation. The rotation direction switch (4) can only be actuated when the safety
switch (5) is not pressed.
2.5. Clamping the tool
Remove the battery or move the rotation direction switch (4) to the middle rest position. The drilling spindle
is locked when the safety switch (5) is not pressed. This enables easy tightening and loosening of the tool
attachment in the quick-clamping chuck (1). The tool is clamped by turning the quick-clamping chuck (1) to
the right, loosen by turning to the left. Never open or close the quick-clamping chuck when the motor is running.
2.6. Inserting the battery
NOTICE
Charge the battery before inserting in the cordless power drill/screw driver! Push the battery into the drive
unit vertically until it snaps in audibly.
2.7. Operating the safety switch
If the safety switch (5) is only pressed slightly, the LED work light (6) lights, the quick-clamping chuck (1) does
not yet turn. When the pressure is increased the quick-clamping chuck turns at slow speed. The highest speed
is achieved when the safety switch (5) is pressed right in.
3. Operation
REMS Helix VE is equipped with a safety switch (5). This enables the drive unit to be stopped at any time
but especially in the event of danger.
3.1. Drilling
Only apply REMS Helix VE to the workpiece to be drilled when it is off. Press the safety switch (5) a little at
first, then press in fully.
3.2. Turning in/loosening screws
Only apply REMS Helix VE to the screw head when it is off. As soon as the bit is firmly in the screw head,
press the safety switch (5) at first only a little and then press in fully.
NOTICE
Switch off the drive unit immediately if the safety clutch responds during operation.
3.3. Removing burr with REMS REG
Set the speed range preselection switch (3) to "Lo" and the rotation direction switch (4) to right-hand rotation.
Press the safety switch (5) fully in. Press the pipe to be deburred carefully against the pipe deburrer.
CAUTION
Danger of injury! Do not reach into the area of the moving pipe deburrer!
