HOW TO USE THE
AUTOMATIC
ICEMAKER
A newly-installed refrigerator will
require at least 12 hours for the
automatic icemaker to begin
making ice.
The speed and quantity of ice production depends on
freezer compartment temperature, room temperature,
water pressure, number of door openings, and other
use conditions.
For proper ice production, the icemaker must be
connected to the house water supply, with a pressure
of at least 20-120 psi. If house water pressure is higher,
a pressure reducing valve may be required to avoid
damage to the automatic icemaker.
To test icemaker
operation
Remove the ice bin in the upper part
of the freezer compartment by placing
your hand under the bottom of the
ice bin, lifting up and pulling the bin
forward while holding the top of the
bin with your other hand.
CAUTION: DO NOT let the ice bin
drop to the floor, or it could cause personal injury
or floor damage.
With the icemaker power switch on (LED lamp is red),
lift the icemaker feeler arm three times to activate the
icemaker. After the icemaker heater is energized, the
icemaker motor will turn on. The presence of a small
amount of water at this point is normal.
After installation, to flush out impurities in the water line
and to avoid a plastic smell or taste, throw away the first
full bucket of ice.
If ice is not used frequently, ice cubes will melt and join
together, affecting the operation of the icemaker. Remove
the icemaker and the ice lump.
CAUTION: If the icemaker and dispenser will not be used
for a long period of time, such as when going on vacation,
turn off the water valve and turn off the icemaker power
switch.
CAUTION: If ice melts due to a power failure, remove
the icemaker and wipe out the ice bin and freezer
compartment to avoid melted ice dripping from the
freezer compartment
and creating a hazard and/or
floor damage.
Rapid Ice
When you need ice in a hurry, select the Rapid Ice button
on the dispenser control panel to speed up ice production.
This will increase ice production for the following 48 hours
or until you press the Rapid Ice button again.
