1 Loosen and remove the screw (1).
2 Lift the filter cover (2) and remove the sponge filtering (3).
3 Clean the sponge in a soap and water solution. Allow it to dry completely.
4 Dip the dry sponge in oil, the same type used in the generator engine.

Drain the oil excess with your hand, the filter only has to be slightly moist with
oil.

Once cleaned and drained, reinstall the filter sponge in the filter housing and
close it with the cover locking screw
NOTE: If the filter has not been well drained, the engine may produce an
abnormal smoke at first use, or the engine may malfunction due to bad air
intake.
