brushes clean and ensure that they slide freely
within the brush holders.
4. Replacing carbon brushes (Fig. 16)
<Disassembly>
(1) Loosen the D4 tapping screw (1 screw) retaining
the tail cover and remove the tail cover.
(2) Use a small screw-driver to pull up the edge of
the coil spring that are holding down the carbon
brush. Remove toward the outside of the brush
holders.
(3) Remove the edge of the pig-tails on the carbon
brushes, from the wiring block group (A) and then
remove the carbon brushes from the brush holders.

The minimum cutting radius of No. 1 (Long), No. 21, No. 22 and No. 41 blades is 100 mm.
No. 1 (Long), No. 11, No. 12, No. 15, No. 16, No. 21, No. 22, No. 95, No. 96 and No. 97 blades are sold
separately.
<Assembly>
(1) Insert the end of the pig tails of the carbon brushes
in the terminal section of the wiring block (A).
(2) Insert the carbon brushes in the brush holders.
(3) Use the small screwdriver to return the edge of the
coil spring to the head of the carbon brushes.
(4) Check that the pig tails of the carbon brushes are
completely inserted in the pig tail's groove on the
brush holders.
(5) Close the tail cover and tighten the D4 tapping
screw (1 screw).
5. Maintenance of the motor
The motor unit winding is the very "heart" of the
power tool.
Exercise due care to ensure the winding does not
become damaged and/or wet with oil or water.
