MD GUIDE MESSAGES
Blank Disc
• Nothing is recorded on the disc.
Can't Edit
• The disc is record-protected.
b Slide the record-protect tab on the disc. (See page 24.)
• Tracks are too short to be joined.
b See THE LIMITATIONS OF MD on page 17.
• The combine function was used while playing the first
track.
• The divide function was used at the beginning of the track.
• The combine function was used to join a track recorded in
monaural with a track recorded in stereo.
• Programmed play is activated.
b Cancel the programmed play.
Caution!
• The unit operates abnormally.
b Reset the unit as stated below.
Disc Error
• The disc is damaged by scratches.
b Replace the disc.
• The unit received a strong shock during a TOC reading.
b Do not subject the disc to strong shock during a TOC
reading.
Disc Full
• There is not enough time remaining on the disc to record.
b Replace the disc with another recordable disc.
Emergency
• The unit operates abnormally due to a scratched disc or a
strong shock.
b Replace the disc. Do not subject the disc to a strong
shock.
MD Error
• Malfunction occurs in the MD unit.
b Refer to your local Aiwa dealer.
Mecha Error
• Error occurs in the loading mechanism. (All functions
except POWER will be disabled.)
b Turn the power off and disconnect the AC cord once.
Then turn it on again.
b If this message still appears, consult your local Aiwa
dealer.
NO Disc
• No disc is inside the unit
b Insert an MD.
PB Disc
• There is an attempt to record or edit a prerecorded music
disc (optical disc).
b Replace the disc with a recordable one.
PROG FULL
• Programmed tracks are full.
Protected
• The disc is record-protected.
b Slide the record-protect tab on the disc. (See page 24.)

Temp Over
• The temperature of the unit is too high.
b Leave the unit in a cool place for a while before
operating it again.
• The surrounding temperature is too high or too low.
b Operate the unit at moderate room temperature.
Toc Full
• There are too many tracks or emphasis data to be
recorded or edited, or there is no room on the disc.
b Erase tracks.
UTOC Error
• TOC data is not registered correctly due to a strong shock.
b All the functions except ERASING ALL THE TRACKS
ON A DISC (page 21) cannot be performed.
b Replace the disc. Do not subject the disc to a strong
shock during TOC reading or TOC recording.
To reset
If an unusual condition occurs in the display window, reset
the unit.
Press the reset hole (RESET) on the rear of the unit with a
thin stick or similar tool.
Everything stored in memory after purchase is canceled.
RESET
