Technical refinements of the Pilot's Watch/Spitfire
Double Chronograph
Your IWC watch shows you the time in hours, minutes and seconds, the
day and the date. You can measure any period in
1
/
seconds, minutes and
8
hours with the split-second chronograph, and you can record intermediate
times or a second finishing time with the split-seconds hand (rattrapante).
Stop times can be cumulated. The case and the buckle of your watch are
made of stainless steel. Your Pilot's Watch/Spitfire Double Chronograph is
water-resistant to a depth of 60 metres (6 bar) and is protected by a solid
sapphire glass (hardness grade 9), which is retained securely in the case at
low pressure, such as the drop in pressure that occurs at extreme altitude.
An additional inner case made of antimagnetic soft iron protects the move-
ment against disturbing magnetic fields. To ensure that this exceptional
watch can continue to perform its tasks, you must follow a few important
operating instructions.
