Intended use
ROTHENBERGER Standard pressing jaws are exclusively intended for use with ROTHENBERGER
pressing tools as well as with pressing units with compatible jaw holders and a constant axial thrust of
32 to 34 kN.
ROTHENBERGER Compact pressing jaws are exclusively intended for use with ROTHENBERGER
pressing tools as well as with pressing units with compatible jaw holders and a constant axial thrust of
19 to 20 kN.
Any other use or uses which go beyond this are not valid for intended use.
ROTHENBERGER will not be liable for any damage resulting from invalid use. The user will be solely
responsible for the risk.
Another component part of the intended use is the reading and following of the Operating Instructions
and the Inspection and Maintenance Conditions.
The jaw may only be operated by qualified specialist craftsmen from the sanitation/heating/air
conditioning area after successful training.
Explanation of the symbols used
Before putting this jaw into operation read through these Operating Instructions carefully to avoid
dangers and to familiarise yourself with the jaw.
Keep these Operating Instructions together with the jaw, so that you can reread them at any time.
Pass on these Operating Instructions together with the jaw to any other user of the jaw.

Call for action
Start-up
Insert the jaw into the pressing tool and lock it securely (see the Operating Instructions for the pressing
tool).
Caution!
The jaw must be regularly inspected for damage. Older jaws can break if damage already exists
(microcracks etc.). Worn contours lead to faulty pressings. If damage is visible the jaw may not be
used any more and must be sent to the designated Service Centre for assessment of the fitness
for use.
