Connecting Safely
Connect the device as described in these Instructions, and take note of the
technical data. Arrange for a qualified electrician to install all the cables inside
the building.
Comply with the safety regulations in the installation environment, especially the
ones involving lightning protection.
The device is supplied with Power over Ethernet (PoE). If you are not using a
PoE-capable Ethernet switch and need a PoE adapter for connecting to the
mains, you can order one as an accessory.
Only use original accessories and original replacement parts.
Location Characteristics
The device is intended for wall mounting.
The device is designed for use in dry spaces with a temperature range of +5 °C
to +45 °C. Do not expose the device to heat sources, direct sunlight or other
electrical devices.
Protect the device against dampness, dust, caustic liquids and vapours.
Never place the device in humid spaces (for example, in a bathroom or shower
room). The device is not protected against spray water.
Limitations on Use
Never use a damaged device.
Do not use the device in environments which are prone to explosions, e.g. paint
shops.
Never use the device in life-support systems or nuclear facilities. The device can
only be used for these purposes with prior written permission/clarification from
the manufacturer in each individual case.
Medical devices may not work properly. Take into account the local technical
environmental conditions e.g. in a doctor's practice. If you use medical devices
such as a pacemaker, contact the manufacturer of this device and find out about
the extent to which it is resistant to external high-frequency energy.
Necessary Knowledge for Configuration
Incomplete or incorrect configuration can create a personal hazard e.g. because
emergency calls cannot be made.
