Handling precautions
This unit has been designed to make
G
settings on standard vehicles that have
not been modified. If the engine specifi-
cations (for example, compression ratio
or muffler) have been changed, the set-
tings may not match the current perfor-
mance of the vehicle.
Use only AA rechargeable Ni-MH (nick-
G
el-metal hydride) batteries (2 batteries)
to power this unit. For information on
handling the batteries, refer to the oper-
ation manual supplied with the batteries.
Do not start the engine and ride the vehi-
G
cle while the unit is connected and
placed on the vehicle. Otherwise, the
unit may be damaged.
Never start the engine in an enclosed ar-
G
ea. Exhaust gas is poisonous.
Keep open flames, sparks, or any other
G
source of fire away from the work area.
Keep the unit away from hot parts (en-
G
gine, muffler, and brakes) and rotating
parts (sprockets, tires, and drive chain)
of the vehicle.
Do not use or store the unit in hot loca-
G
tions, such as near flames, in direct sun-
light, or in a vehicle in hot weather.
Do not get the unit wet.

Do not drop the unit, subject it to strong
G
shocks, or throw it.
Do not disassemble or modify the unit.
