Before First Use
• Unpack the appliance.
• Before first use, clean the carafe (12), filter basket (16), filter holder (4) and filters (7-9) thoroughly in
warm soapy water, rinse and dry. Please note: To remove the filter basket, open the top lid (1), lift the
spout (Fig.5) and press the release knob next to the filter. The filter basket disengages and can be
removed. When re-inserting it, make sure it engages (audibly clicks into place).
• Before using your appliance for the first time or after longer periods of non-use, clean it by rinsing with
water without adding any coffee grounds. Proceed as follows:
Step 1: Espresso/Cappuccino Maker
1. Fill cold water into the water tank (13). For this purpose it is possible to detach the water tank (Fig.4):
Open the top lid (1) and lift out the tank. Fill it to the maximum level and re-insert it into the coffee maker.
Make sure, it engages. Only if the lid (1) can be fully closed (you will hear a slight click), is the water
tank in place!
