1.2. TRANSPORT, RECEPTION, STORAGE AND HANDLING
This unit is carefully inspected prior to shipment. Upon receipt, you must verify that it has not been damaged or tam-
pered with during transport. If it has, let the carrier know within 72 hours by registered letter with notice of receipt,
summarizing the observations at the time of reception. If the unit is received without objection, the buyer will have no
recourse against S&P.
The packaging of this unit has been designed to withstand normal transport conditions. It should not be transported
out of its original packaging, as it could deform or deteriorate. Avoid impacts, falls and placing excessive weights on the
packaging.
Storage must be carried out in its original packaging in a dry place, protected from the weather, impacts and dirt due to
splashing, both during its transport from the supplier to the end customer, and in its fi nal location prior to installation.
Consider the following reference values:
• Temperature: -10ºC to +40ºC
• Relative humidity: 30 to 95% without condensation
When handling heavy products, use suitable lifting methods to avoid injury or damaging the product itself.
1.3. SAFETY DURING INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE OF THE PDS CONTROL
The installation, maintenance and repairs of the product and/or kit must be carried out by competent personnel and in
accordance with the local and international regulations applicable in each country.
Check that the voltage and frequency values of the mains supply are the same as those shown on the nameplate.
For the electrical connection follow the indications in the connection diagram.
Check that the ground connection has been made correctly, and that the relevant electrical protections have been con-
nected and adjusted to the corresponding thresholds.
Make sure the installation complies with the mechanical and electrical regulations of each country, as well as the appli-
cable fi re protection regulations. For example, the provision of a dedicated alternative power supply for the system, of
automatic switch in case of failure of the main power supply, may be required.
Note: system commissioning (PDS CONTROL + fan). Before starting the system, check the following:
• The fi xing of the equipment and the electrical installation have been carried out correctly.
• Electrical safety devices have been properly connected.
• There are no remnants of mounting materials or foreign bodies that can be absorbed into the fan inlet, or be dischar-
ged by it.
• Earth connection is properly set.
• Cable and electrical connections are properly airtight.
• That the PDS CONTROL operating mode selector is in the OFF position.
See start-up section for unit confi guration.
Maintentance
It is assumed that this unit will be installed in conjunction with mechanical fans. That said, before handling a fan, make sure
that it is disconnected from mains supply (the PDS CONTROL is disconnected), even if it is already stopped and that nobody
can start it at the time.
Given the nature of a fi re protection system, a series of regular inspections, maintenance and testing procedures are neces-
sary. The frequency and typology of these procedures must be in accordance with the applicable local regulations, and depen-
ding on the operating conditions of the system. This is also intended to avoid the accumulation of dirt on wheels, impellers,
