4.2 Safety information
NOTICE
The intended use of the FPU exclusively
includes the testing and correcting of the
accumulator pre‑charge pressure (p
The FPU is not suited for continuous use.
DANGER
Prior to each testing procedure, and before
topping-up or re-charging with nitrogen, the
hydraulic accumulator must be isolated from
the pressurized system by means of a
shut‑off valve and the fluid released.
Ensure adequate ventilation when
discharging nitrogen from hydraulic
accumulators in enclosed spaces.
Risk of suffocation.

NOTICE
When using a nitrogen bottle (200/300 bar), a
pressure reducing valve must be used (see
diagram in section 2.1 with FPU‑1).
When using a pressure boosting system
(design can vary, observe manufacturer's
instructions), it must be ensured that the max.
permissible operating overpressure of both
the accumulator and the FPU is not exceeded
(see diagram in section 2.2 with FPU‑2).
DANGER
Risk to health when using aggressive
media (we recommend using special
charging and testing units).
When charging or testing the accumulator,
nitrogen and operating fluid can escape if the
bladder, diaphragm or piston seal is faulty
(i.e. leaking).
NOTICE
When charging using an intensifier or nitrogen
charging system connected upstream,
continuous operation can lead to
).
unacceptable increases in temperature. Rest
0
periods must therefore be incorporated into
the charging procedure and the FPU allowed
to cool down.
WARNING
FPU‑1:
Removal of the shut‑off valve (C) is not
permitted. The valve has a safety function for
the entire FPU‑1.

fold‑out page.
