Read the operating instructions in full before
starting up and follow the safety instructions.
• Keep the operating instructions in a place where they can be
accessed by everyone.
• Ensure that only trained staff work with the appliance.
• Follow the safety instructions, guidelines, occupational health
and safety and accident prevention regulations.
• Set up the device in a spacious area on an even, stable, clean,
non-slip, dry and fireproof surface.
• Do not operate the appliance in explosive atmospheres, with
hazardous substances.
• Protect the appliance and accessories from bumps and impacts.
• Check the appliance and accessories beforehand for damage
each time you use them. Do not use damaged components.
• Safe operation is only guaranteed with the accessories descri-
bed in the "Accessories" chapter.
• The socket for the mains cord must be easily accessible.
• The plug to be used must be earthed (grounded contact).
• The voltage stated on the type plate must correspond to the
mains voltage.
• The appliance can only be disconnected from the mains supply
by pulling out the mains plug or the connector plug.
• Disconnect the power cord before attaching or replacing acces-
sories.
• Disconnect the power cord before cleaning, maintaining, or
transporting the device.
• The device must only be opened by trained, skilled personnel,
even when repairs are to be made. Unplug the device before
opening. Current-carrying parts in the interior of the device may
remain live for some time after the device has been unplugged.
• Use:
The C 1.20 heater may only be operated in conjunction with the
C 1 calorimeter. The C 1.20 heater serves to maintain the correct
temperature of drinking-quality tap water, which must be connec-
ted to the heater at a maximum pressure of 6 bar/0.6 MPa. The
C 1 control connection cable supplied is used to control the C 1
calorimeter.
The conditions for operating the C 1 calorimeter with the C 1.20
heater on a water supply line are:
- tap water: drinking-quality tap water is recommended,
- temperature range: see "Technical data" section; the measuring
mode must be selected according to the water temperature:
water temperature < 21 °C : measuring mode 22 °C,
water temperature > 21 °C : measuring mode 30 °C.
- water pressure: see "Technical data" section (for high or irregular
pressure, we recommend using the C 25 water pressure control val-
ve, available in our accessories range.

Safety instructions

• The C 1 calorimeter's power supply unit must never be positi-
oned beneath the heater or beneath water hoses.
• Connect the C 1.20 heater to the C 1 in accordance with these
operating instructions.
• Use only drinking-quality tap water for operation.
• The permissible operating pressure must not exceed the value
given in the technical data.
• Check the hose system between the devices for tightness be-
fore commissioning.
• Shut off the water supply before disassembling the hose sys-
tem.
• The device may only be used for its intended purpose and as de-
scribed in these operating instructions. This applies to operation
by trained and qualified staff as well.
• Transport the device carefully.
WARNING
can be accessed immediately, directly and without risk
at any time. If installation or positioning cannot ensure
this access at all times, an additional EMERGENCY OFF
switch that can be easily accessed must be installed in
the work area.
• Ensure that the hoses and tubes do not slip or bend.
• Regularly check hoses, tubes, and heater for possible material
fatigue (cracks/leakage).

Use the C 1.20 heater in closed spaces only.
The unit is suitable for use in all areas apart from domestic areas
and areas directly connected to a low-voltage supply which also
serves domestic areas.
The safety of the user cannot be guaranteed if the appliance is
operated with accessories that are not supplied or recommended
by the manufacturer or if the appliance is operated improperly
contrary to the manufacturer's specifi cations or if the appliance
or the printed circuit board are modifi ed by third parties.
Users must make sure that the
