7 TROUBLESHOOTING
The appliance should be inspected by a qualified professional at least once a year to ensure it is operating correctly, prolong its life and make sure
safety is optimised. This would normally involve:
- removing any rust on the burners
- removing any build-up on the electrode
- cleaning the combustion chamber
- checking that the appliance switches on and off and operates correctly
- checking the fan is operating correctly
- checking the air pressure switch
- checking the flue gas exhaust and air intake pipes.

FAULT
Boiler does not switch on
No spark but fan operating
Burner does not come on
Burner does not switch off when water shut off
Repeated firing attempts
Burner flame inconsistent and appliance then
switches off
CAUSE
- No electrical supply
- No gas feeding
- Air in gas line
- Pressure switch fault
- Pressure switch tube not connected or cut
- Ignition/flame detection electrode broken
- Electrode cable cut off
- Circuit board does not detect flame
- Main solenoid valve does not open
- Ignition/flame detection electrode broken
- Electrode cable cut off
- Circuit board does not detect flame
- Main solenoid valve does not open
- For LPG models, check the gas supply pres-
sure
- Flow switch fault
- Specific inlet/suction line pipes not inserted

SOLUTION
- Connect to the mains
- Turn the gas on
- Bleed the circuit
- Replace
- Check – replace – insert
- Replace
