6) Stop using the machine when people, especially children,
or animals are nearby.
7) Only work in daylight.

8) Before using the machine and after any impact, check for
signs of wear or damage and make the necessary repairs.
9) Never use the machine with damaged or missing guards.
10) Always keep hands and feet away from the cutting device,
especially when starting up the motor.
11) Watch for injuries resulting from any device for cutting the
length of the string. After releasing the new string, always
return the machine to the working position before starting
up the motor.
12) Never install metal cutting tools.
13) Never use spare parts or accessories not provided or
recommended by the manufacturer.
14) Remove the battery from its housing before checking,
cleaning or working on the machine and when the
machine is not in use.
15) Always make sure the cooling vents are always free of
debris.
16) After each use, remove the battery from its housing and
check for any damage.
17) Store the machine out of reach of children.
18) Immediately stop working in case of accident or breakage.
19) Do not use the machine in case of bad weather and
especially in the presence of lightning.
20) Always remove the battery when passing the machine to
another person.
Handling and proper use of battery-powered tools
a) Make sure the tool is switched off before inserting the
battery. Installing a battery into a power tool that is
switched on can cause accidents.
b) To charge the batteries, only use battery chargers
recommended by the manufacturer. Battery chargers are
generally specific to the type of battery; if use other types,
there is a risk of fire hazard.
c)
Only use the special batteries provided for your tool. Using
other batteries can cause injury or constitute a fire hazard.
d) Keep the unused battery away from office clips, coins, keys,
nails, screws or other small metal objects that could cause
a short circuit in the contacts. A short circuit between the
battery contacts can result in combustion or fire.
e) Check that the battery is in good conditions and that there
are no signs of damage. Do not use the machine with a
damaged or worn battery.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USING THE RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES
General precautions

The battery must never be opened.
Never throw used batteries into a fire - EXPLOSION

Connect the battery charger only to outlets with the mains
voltage shown on the nameplate.

Use only an original battery.
-
During prolonged use, the battery may heat up. Let it cool
down before recharging it.

Store the battery and battery charger out of reach of
children.
-
Do not use the battery charger in the presence of

flammable substances or fumes.
-
Only charge the batteries at a temperature between 10°C
and 40°C.
-
Never store batteries in environments with temperatures
above 40°C.
-
Never cause a short-circuit between the contacts of the
rechargeable batteries and do not connect them to metal
objects.
-
When transporting batteries, make sure that the contacts
are not connected to each other and do not use metal
containers to transport them.
-
Short-circuiting the battery can cause an explosion. In any
case, the short circuit damages the rechargeable battery.
-
Regularly check that the battery charger cable is not
damaged. If the cable is damaged, replace the battery
charger.
-
Fully recharge the batteries before storing them for the
winter.
-
The battery can be recharged only with battery charger
complying with EN 60335-2-29/A11.

4. ASSEMBLING THE MACHINE

WARNING! Pay close attention when assembling the
components so as not to compromise the safety and good
working order of the machine; if in doubt, contact your
Authorized Service Center.
WARNING! Unpacking and completing the assembly
should be done on a flat and stable surface, with enough
space for handling the machine and its packaging, always
making use of suitable tools.
The packaging should be disposed of in accordance with local
regulations in force.
For safety reasons, during transportation, the lithium-ion
battery (if provided) is delivered separately from the machine
and partially charged. Before using the machine, you must
charge the battery following the instructions given in the
chapter "Charging the battery".
NOTE - The figures mentioned in the text are on page 4
onwards in this manual.
4.1 FITTING THE FRONT HANDLE (Fig.1)

Make sure that the battery is not fitted in its housing.

Insert the front handle (A) onto the drive pipe (B), with the
housing (C) for the screw (D) facing the left side.

Insert the screw (D) and tighten the knob (E) with the nut (F).
-
Before tightening the knob (E), slide the handle (A) up or
down to find the most ergonomic position for the
operator.
4.2 FITTING THE GUARD (Fig.2)
