3.1

Aeration

The air hose in the cable of the sensor must be in connection with the atmo-
spheric pressure. This means that if the sensor cable is connected inside an
airtight box, this box must be aerated.
3.2

Mounting in fluid without turbulence

Normally, the HSC2 can be mounted hanging freely in the delivered cable
hanger, part. no 18900001, not touching the bottom. See
3.3

Mounting in liquid with turbulence

If there is a strong turbulence, we recommend that the weight with part number
18900008 is mounted. See
Alternatively, the sensor may be protected inside a pipe, with an inside diameter
of at least 50 mm (2 inch), mounted vertically along the side of the tank or pit
wall 10 cm (4 inch) above the bottom; see
The HSC2 is lowered through the tube until its lower end is free of the tube but
still free from the bottom. Slots in the tube may prevent floating sludge to
collect in the tube, which otherwise could make it less easy to lift the sensor.

Settings and calibration with calibration system CB2

4.1

General

HSC2 can be adjusted and calibrated from a personal computer with the cali-
bration system CB2 (accessory), which consists of a calibration box and a
Windows program.
The calibration box has an interface to enable communication between the per-
sonal computer and the sensor, and a precision instrument to measure the
sensor's output signal.
4.2

Connection to CB2

HSC2 connects to the calibration box CB2 as shown below:
