EXPLOSIVE GASES
Explosive gases are produced by lead-
acid batteries during normal battery
operation.
Do not smoke, cause sparking or use
open flames near battery.
Warning

Arcing could cause injury to the operator or
damage the battery connector.
Always stop the charging process by pressing the
STOP button before the battery is disconnected.
Do not keep inflammable material close to battery
charger.
Make sure the charging parameters are correctly
set according to the battery manufacturer
specification, see Parameter settings.
Charging may only be performed in a
well ventilated environment.
Receiving
On receipt, visually inspect the product for any
physical damage. If necessary contact the
transport company.
Check the delivered parts against the delivery
note. Contact your supplier if something is missing,
see Contact information.
Installation

Mechanical installation

• Install the battery charger indoors in a dry, clean
and well ventilated environment.
• Comply the dimensions specified for free space
around the battery charger, see Figures
depending on model.
• Install the battery charger so that gases from
the battery charging process are not sucked in
by the battery charger fans.

Note:
If the battery charger is installed with the back side
down an alarm indicates the incorrect installation.
The charging process is not affected.
1. Depending on model, install the battery charger
according to:
• Access™ 32
• Access™ 50
• Access™ 100 X
• Access™ 100
• Access™ 200
2. Attach the battery charger to a wall or similar
using the accompanying bracket.
3. Secure the battery charger:
• by hooking the cable suspension plate to the
bottom edge of the battery charger.
• with screws through the lower holes on the
battery charger frame.
Caution
The battery charger should always be securely
fastened.

Electrical installation

Warning
High voltage!
Incorrect connection of battery cables can cause
personal injuries and damage to the battery,
battery charger and cables.
Make sure the connections are correct.
The battery charger is produced for different mains
voltages.
4 Check that the power supply at the site of the
installation complies with the rated voltage
specified on the battery charger's data label.
The label is located on the left or lower side of
the charger.
