7. The premixing stage can be switched off or on in
the next field. Again, turn the MRK to the desired
setting and press the "Enter" button (B).
8. This setting can be used to place the material
under vacuum without mixing it, before the actu-
al mixing process starts. The prevacuum stage
can be switched off or on (with time setting).
Turn the MRK to set it and press the "Enter" but-
ton (B).
9. The interval time denotes after how many
seconds the mixing blade should change
direction.
10. A programme description can be entered in the
last field. To do so, continue turning the MRK (C)
until the correct letter is reached. Press the
"Enter" button (B) to confirm the letter and the
cursor will jump to the next position automatical-
ly. A name of up to 12 letters can be stored. If not
all 12 letters are required, fill the vacant spaces
with blank characters. Once the last character
has been entered, the programme will have been
stored and mixing can begin. (Refer to the
"Mixing" section for further instructions).
VACUUM DISPLAY
While the mixer is in operation, the current vacuum
level is displayed instead of the programme name.

REPLACING THE PRELIMINARY FILTER
The preliminary filter is inside the suction nozzle.
The main filter inside the unit and the preliminary
filter protect the vacuum pump against possible con-
tamination. To replace the preliminary filter, pull the
filter holder downwards and fit a new filter. The filter
should fit the filter holder flat and without leaving a
gap. Then press the filter holder as far as possible
into the opening.
Never operate the Smartmix without a preliminary
filter!
SERVICING
Like most AmannGirrbach equipment, the Smartmix
is designed to be maintenance-free and includes a
maintenance-free vacuum pump. Simply keep the
unit clean. The sealing surfaces of the suction nozzle
and lid must be kept particularly clean to ensure
that the vacuum is optimum. The seal can be kept
supple by coating it periodically with a thin coat of
Vaseline or similar grease.
