DESCRIPTION OF THE UNIT

The Smartmix vacuum mixer is for mixing all types
of plaster, investment material and silicone paste.
This unit is constructed robustly. A twin-chamber
vacuum pump creates a high vacuum in a very short
time. As the vacuum sucks the mixing beaker onto
the unit, no additional catches are required.
The Smartmix includes a high quality electronic
control system which can be used to store up to 20
mixing programmes. Each mixing programme
includes the following settings:
1. Mixing time
The mixing time can be set progressively from
0 seconds to 5 minutes.
2. Speed (100 - 450 r.p.m.)
The speed can be set in stages of 10 from 100 - 450
r.p.m.
3. Premixing
The premixing stage can be switched on or off. When
switched on, an interval of 5 - 20 seconds (in stages
of 5) can be programmed. To prevent the powder
being whirled up, premixing commences at a speed
of 100 r.p.m. and increases linear to the speed set in
section 2). If the premixing stage is activated, no
hand mixing is required.
4. Prevacuum
This stage can also be switched on or off. When it is
switched on, a constant vacuum is created in the
mixing vessel without actually mixing. The intervals
can be set between 2 and 60 seconds (progressively).
5. Interval time
The interval time denotes after how many seconds
the direction of rotation of the mixing blade should
be reversed. The shortest interval time which can be
set is two seconds. The direction cannot be reversed
if the interval is set at less than two seconds.
6. Programme description
The name of a programme can be entered here. The
name can have up to 12 characters. All settings are
entered with the multifunctional rotary knob. The
Smartmix was designed to be as ergonomic and
straightforward as possible. The controls of the
Smartmix show how simple it is - they consist of the
multifunctional rotary knob and 2 buttons only.

INSTALLATION
After unpacking the unit, please check it immediate-
ly for possible damage incurred during transport.
Should the unit have been damaged during trans-
port, please complain to your supplier immediately.
Although this unit is supplied ready for use, always
check the voltage setting (115/230 V) immediately
above the power socket. If you are not certain which
voltage is used in your country, please ask your local
supplier of electrical appliances.
INSTALLING ON A BENCH
The stand is available as an accessory and consists
of a firm, heavy base with a back. The stand is scre-
wed to the bottom of the Smartmix with the screws
supplied. The unit is then ready for use.
FITTING TO A WALL
A wall drilling template is supplied with the unit for
drilling holes in the wall quickly and exactly. Ensure
that the holes are aligned exactly and horizontally
(check with a spirit level if necessary). Once the
holes have been drilled, press the rawplugs into
them. Screw in the screws until approximately 5 - 6
mm protrude and hang the unit on them.
Caution: Special rawplugs must be used for
sandwich-type plaster board walls!
1. Stick template onto required wall mounting
position.
2. Mark the center of the 4 crossed lines using a
tip end instrument.
3. Remove template and drill the holes. Now you
can press the enclosed dowels into the holes.
Screw the enclosed bolts into the dowels and
leave a 0.15 inch space before they align with
the dowels.
4. The bigger holes on the back (marked black on this
template) will help you finding the screw-positions
when hanging Smartmix onto the wall. Check care-
fully if the device has engaged correctly on your
wall before removing the weight from your arms
when holding the device.
