To avoid the hazards identified below, it is your responsibility to check the cushion daily
and to use the cushion appropriately.
DEFLATION: Loss of air in the cushion can result in bottoming out, eliminating (if not
immediately fixed) the characteristics of the cushion that assist in healing and preventing skin
tissue breakdown.
BOTTOMING OUT: Too much air being released from your cushion can cause your lowest
bony prominence to touch the cushion base. This decreases or cancels any therapeutic value
of the cushion and could result in skin tissue breakdown. The product should be adjusted so
at least 1/2" (1.25 cm) of air is maintained between the QUADTRO SELECT or CONTOUR
SELECT cushion and your lowest bony prominence.
OVER-INFLATION: Too much air in the cushion will reduce the therapeutic value of the
cushion and could result in skin tissue breakdown or unstable seating position. Follow
adjustment procedure on page 7.
DO NOT:
• expose cushion to pins or sharp objects.
• expose cushion to hot ashes or any open flame.
• use the air valve as a handle.
• use the ISOFLO Memory Control Unit as a handle.
• use oil based lotion or lanolin on your cushion, as they may compromise the integrity of
the rubber.
• use petroleum-based products or materials containing plasticizers against the rubber, as
they may cause discoloration and/or deterioration.
• use the cushion as a water flotation device.
• autoclave cushion because closed valves may increase internal pressure and cause the
cushion to rupture.
Never use the ISOFLO
cause it to leak air. When necessary, use the handle strap on your cushion cover as a handle.
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Health Canada, and other government agencies
have issued warnings regarding the use of ozone generators. These devices may be injurious
to your health and will degrade rubber, fabrics, plastics, and various other materials, including
those used in the manufacture of your ROHO product. Prolonged exposure to ozone may
affect the performance of your product and invalidate the product warranty.
Please contact The ROHO Group or your nearest rehabilitation technology supplier or
distributor immediately if deflation or bottoming out that you cannot remedy is occurring for
any reason.
