3.3. Safety Recommendations - Equipment

• Disconnect the machine from the electrical plug before any intervention.
• Select the correct electric tool taking into account the type of use and power required.
• Do not change or make adjustments that change the original configuration of the
power tool or drills or accessories.
• Only use recommended and quality accessories (see page 73).
• Check if the accessories are in good condition, without defects.
• Inspect cables and plugs for cracks, parched parts, lack of insulation and keep them
clean and free of oils and greases, which can deteriorate the insulation.
• Only use certified cables and plugs with EC marking and with supported power (in
watts) greater than the sum of all equipment connected to it.
• Never pull the plug, or hold the machine, by the cable.
• If the drill bit is stuck in a part due to a drilling operation that has been interrupted,
it must be removed by turning the machine on in the reversing mode and with a gentle
actuation of the switch. Do not attempt to continue drilling with the drill bit attached.
• Remove the depth limiter if it is not in use. Keeping the limiter fixed without using it
may interfere with handling during work and increase the occurrence of accidents.
• Do not rest the machine until it has immobilised its movement.
• When removing the installed tool after long work, it may be hot. Avoid direct contact
with skin.

3.4. Check List: 7 steps before starting

1. Be aware of the safety recommendations in the manual.
2. Check the general condition of the machine. Look for cracks, clearances, loose bolts,
loose parts inside, among others, and check electrical cables.
3. Check if the drill, chisel, pointer, or other attachment installed on the mandrel is
securely fastened, sharpened and undamaged.
4. Check the switch movement and make sure the switch is off.
5. Check if the auxiliary handle is firm and well installed.
6. Check if the available mains voltage (volts, Hz and alternating current) is compatible
with the machine specification.
7. If the environment is cold, switch on the power tool for a time that is sufficient for the
parts and lubrication to heat up to their optimum performance temperature.
