Dividing Attachment
24 264
Your dividing attachment is especially
designed and constructed to be used
with the PROXXON positioning stage
KT 70 or the Micro-Milling machine MF
70. The fixing holes are specifically
matched to its groove spacing so that
the dividing attachment can be readily
mounted with the accessories
supplied.
Fixing on the positioning stage:
You can mount the dividing attach-
ment for horizontal (fig. 1) or vertical
(fig. 2) working. With this type of fixing,
it is also possible to work with long
work pieces, as shown in the illus-
tration – they can simply be passed
through a hole in the baseplate.
Clamping the work piece:
Tighten the knurled screw on the side
of the housing. Using the outside
clamping faces of the chuck jaws:
clamp by turning anticlockwise. Using
the inside clamping faces of the chuck
jaws: clamp by turning clockwise.
Turning the jaws (fig. 3):
If the chuck (with knurled stop screw)
is turned far enough clockwise, the
jaws are freed and can be taken out,
turned and re-inserted. Take care that
the numbers on the jaw and the chuck
body correspond! See fig. 4: Normal
use for outside and inside clamping of
a work piece. Fig. 5 shows the chuck
with the jaws turned: this allows large
work pieces to be clamped.
Vernier scale:
Through the opening on the side of the
housing, the vernier scale engraved on
the baseplate can be seen. This en-
ables the chuck to be positioned to
one degree.
Example: The 0 mark on the degree
scale is opposite the 0 mark on the
vernier scale. To turn the chuck by one
degree, the next short mark of the
degree marking on the chuck should
be exactly aligned with the 1 mark of
the vernier. To turn another degree,
align the next mark with the 2 mark of
the vernier scale – and so on.
