New belts are liable to stretch slightly with-
in the first hours of use and are to be more
tightly tensioned than used belts.

8.3 Oil pump
Perform the following pump oil inspection every 500
hours of operation:
• Ensure that there is no oil leakage from the pump.
• Check the oil level.
• Check that the oil is clean.
8.4 Pump oil change
Remove the panels closest to the pump and the trans-
mission before changing oil.
The first oil change should be made after 500 hours
of use and then every 4000 hours of use. See the en-
closed pump manual for details regarding oil and oil
change. Oil change must be made on both sides of the
pump.
Fill in the back of the 'Red card' with information after
each oil change. Some pumps have an oil draining kit
with a hose which makes the oil change easier, see
Figure 6.
The protection cap must only be tightened by
hand after the oil change, see Figure 7. Other-
wise, the entire drain device might loosen the
next time the cap is removed. This ruins the
thread seal resulting in oil leakage and the en-
tire drain device must be replaced.
8.5 Internal cleaning
Perform the internal cleaning inspection every 500
hours of operation.
1
Turn off the unit.
2
Rotate the pump and motor by hand in both direc-
tions.
• If the pump and motor are hard to rotate the
pump may require internal cleaning. Contact
your local Nederman representative for this ser-
vice.
• If the pump and motor are easy to rotate the
pump does not require internal cleaning.

NOTE!
Never dismantle the pump. Special equipment
and knowledge are absolutely necessary for
re-assembling the pump. Assembling the pump
without this equipment results in severe dam-
age to the pump at the next startup.
8.6 Discharge silencer
Check the large silencer underneath the pump and
motor for cracks every 500 hours of operation. Re-
place the silencer if any cracks are found.
8.7 Thermal fuse
Never run the unit without a functioning thermal fuse
or temperature sensor installed. Contact your loc-
al Nederman representative in order to remedy the
cause and take necessary action if the pump temper-
ature exceeds 140°C. The fuse must only be replaced
and the unit started once the cause for overheating
has been found.
8.8 Inlet safety grating
The safety grating in the inlet silencer may clog if the
dust collection is poor, or the vacuum unit is located in
a very dusty area. Perform the following inlet safety
grating inspection every 500 hours of operation:
1
Turn off the unit.
2
Remove the roof from the unit.
3
Inspect the safety grating for clog, see
item 17.
4 Refit the roof.
8.9 Motor bearings
The recommended intervals for replacing lifetime
greased bearings or re-greasing the grease nipple can
be found on the motor data label or motor manual.
The operating time before service depends on size,
environmental and operating conditions. As the fol-
lowing values are guidelines at normal operation:
