Symptom

Speed control set to low speed.
Low air pressure.
Clogged muffler.
Plugged air inlet screen.

Internal air leakage in the motor

Worn or broken vanes.
Housing cracked or damaged.
Worn or broken spindle bearing.
Dirty, broken or bent valve spring,
valve or valve seat.
Air leakage at the
speed control.
Incorrect assembly of air valve.
Incorrect backing pad.
Addition of interface or other
material.
Damaged backing pad.
Vibration/rough
operation.
Worn or broken motor bearing(s).
Too much vacuum on a flat surface
can increase vibrations.
Low motor speed.
Solution
Turn the speed control to desired speed.
Check air supply (according to operating instructions).
Clean or replace the muffler.
Clean or replace the screen.
Check motor assembly and alignment.
Check air inlet o-ring alignment on motor assembly.
Install a complete set of new vanes and rotor
(Code: MPP9006).
Contact Mirka authorized service center.
Replace the worn or broken bearing (Code: MPP9001).
Disassemble, inspect and replace worn or damaged
parts.
Remove air inlet connection and reassemble the air valve
(207), with the valve stem (202) in its upper position.
Only use Mirka backing pad (125 mm (5")
Code: 8292502011, 150 mm (6") Code: 8292605011).
Only use abrasive and/or interface designed for the
machine.
Replace the pad. Only use Mirka backing pad
(125 mm (5") Code: 8292502011, 150 mm (6")
Code: 8292605011).
Replace the worn or broken bearings.
Lower the vacuum of your dust extraction unit.
Increase motor speed with flow regulator, max 6.2 bar.
