4. INSTALLATION
MIW-02 can be installed in panels or closed metal boxes or inside WEG equipment.
ATTENTION!
- Provide independent conduits or cable troughs to separate the serial interface cables
form the wiring of other equipment such as frequency inverters, motors, contactors, etc.
4.1 Grounding
Due to safety reasons, MIW-02 must be always grounded solidly. The ground connection
must meet the local regulations.
1) For grounding select lead size of min 1.5mm diameter
2) Connect the grounding lead to a specific of to the general grounding point
(Resistance 10 ohms);
3) Do not share the grounding lead with the wiring of other equipment that operate with
high currents (for instance, high voltage motors, welding machines, etc.);
4) When several equipments are connected through their serial interfaces, connect them to
the same ground.
ATTENTION!
- Do not use the neutral conductor for grounding purpose.
- For long distances, use always RS-485 interfaces.
5. RS-485 INTERFACE
For serial communication of WEG network equipment.
1) The connection of the participants is realized by means of a twisted pair cable
2) The signal levels are according to EIA STANDARD RS-485 with differential receivers and
transmitters;
3) Allows multipoint connection within a maximum distance of 1000m;
